The aluminum-block Ranger Duratec 2.3 is the same block as the Focus Duratec 2.3, but many other details can be different. The Ranger Duratec has no balance shafts (to reduce NVH in the passenger cabin) and it's camshaft timing chain is of lesser manufacturing quality; the (North American market) PZEV (Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle) Focus 2.3 Duratec timing chain is smoother to the touch

I have a 2010 Ford Focus with the standard Duratec 2.0 liter engine (not the PZEV engine); it also has an automiatic transmission I know the car has a 100k mile tune-up, but when exactly should the timing belt be changed (like 90-100k)? The Manual says something that at 150k if the belts have not

Belt maintenance (as far as changing the belt and tensioner goes) is designed to be performed from the bottom and top of the car. Doing so will just add an unnecessary step!! First, the belt routing diagram. Mine is hand drawn and is specific to the 08 Duratec. I dunno if its the same for all 2.0L's from 05-11.
