You likely need to buy one of the older expansions to unlock the Revenant. Each of the first 3 original expansions unlocked one of the elite specs for each profession.

JustTrogdor.7892. To gift buy it from the GW2 web store or other Anet authorized retailers (if they offer pre-purchase) and once you get the game key you can it to give to the recipient. Just don’t register it and don’t buy it through the in-game store as the in-game store automatically adds it to your account if you don’t have it already.
So far, I love the expansion. Compared to HoT, I really enjoyed playing PoF, except until the past few hours. I am stuck looking for a single mastery point. I am on the "Find the remaining crystals of Vlast's body" story, and need to get "canyon jumping" mastery.
Living World is tied to the expansion they launched with. You'd need Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire to get the Living World seasons that matter (3,4, and 5). Season 2 is just story. It's just not a good idea to buy Secrets of the Obscure unless you have most, if not all, the previous stuff. There just isn't much content in the newest expansion.
