Had an ek9 and DC2 both on standard suspension drove as dailies Absolutely adored my ek9 but drivers car would go to the DC2 IMO! It ticked all the boxes for me, raw, more poke, handled amazing had full trust in it round the bends. Ek9 is the better daily car though, more space, comfier and not as hard on the road.

Jul 30, 2007. #3. 99-00 year ek's (not just the civic type r's) have the updated front end, or "facelift", or just referred to as the 99-00 front. 96-98 ek's have a different designed front end, or pre-facelift. Search this thread for ek9 specs, and differences between the standard civic type r and the civic type Rx.
For those who are wondering about the total number of Civic Type R EK9 production numbers. I have 2 sources or perhaps reliable information. One is from a Japanese magazine about Honda Type R and the other is from Honda dealer network information. The first photo show the total numbers as : 15,910 units This is the sales numbers.

Some of them had the Civic type r logo at the back / right and left sides. The only part that has the civic type r logo is a the gauge cluster.
